Toddler and Child Swim Lesson Structure
Our classes cater to toddlers and kid ages 2 years-12 years old. Parents are not needed in the water once a child reaches age 2.
-
Class Length: 30 minutes
-
Parent/Guardian Participation: We require you in the water with your child to guide and support during the swim lesson
-
Group/Class Sizes: 3 students : 1 teacher
Each lesson combines water acclimation, interactive exercises, and safety skills, giving your infant or baby a joyful, confidence-building experience.
Why We Start Non-Parent-Assisted Swim Lessons at Age 2
We begin non-parent-assisted swimming at age 2 because toddlers are developmentally ready to learn independence in the water while still being safe and supported. At this age:
-
Children have the motor skills and coordination needed to begin practicing kicks, floats, and basic strokes on their own.
-
They are old enough to follow simple instructions, which allows instructors to guide them safely without a parent in the pool.
-
Starting early helps toddlers gain confidence in their abilities, making the transition to independent swimming much smoother.
-
Waiting too long can make it harder for children to separate from parents, slowing progress and confidence in the water.
By age 2, children are ready to explore, play, and learn in the water independently, setting a strong foundation for safe swimming and long-term skill development.
