FAQ For Infant and Baby Swim Lessons

At what age can my infant start swim lessons?

Babies can start as early as 8 weeks old for parent-child swim classes. We begin non-parent-assisted swimming at age 2 because toddlers are developmentally ready to learn independence in the water while still being safe and supported. At this point, they would be moved up to our our Toddler and Child Swim Progam.

Are parents required in the water in the infant and baby lesson??

Yes, parent participation is essential to support your baby and guide them through each activity.

How long are the lessons?

All swim lessons are 30 minutes long.

Are your swim instructors certified?

Absolutely. Our expert swim instructors are certified in CPR and infant swim techniques, and all classes follow strict safety protocols.

Should my infant do group swim lessons or private lessons?

Both group and private swim lessons can be great options for infants, and the best choice depends on your comfort level and your child’s needs.

Group infant swim lessons are often a good fit if you’re looking for:

  • A social, parent-and-child experience

  • Gentle exposure to the water in a relaxed setting

  • A more budget-friendly option

Private infant swim lessons may be a better choice if:

  • Your infant needs extra time to warm up to the water

  • You prefer one-on-one guidance from an instructor

  • Your schedule requires more flexibility

  • You want lessons tailored closely to your child’s pace

At ReadyGoSwim, our instructors are happy to help you decide which option will best support your infant’s comfort, safety, and confidence in the water.
